uBlend is a long-awaited father-and-son-run business. Riaan and Sebastian have shared a lifelong passion for business, entrepreneurship, and the desire to create something that they can be proud of. Something centred on health, good food and adding value to the lives of those around them.

Sebastian brings youthful energy, determination, and discipline, making sure projects move forward and deadlines are met.
Riaan brings over 30 years of business experience, offering wisdom and strategic guidance. It’s a rare and valuable partnership: one founder driving daily progress, and the other ensuring we stay focused on the bigger picture.

The idea for uBlend began during Sebastian’s gap year after college. While snowboarding in Japan with his brothers, he stepped into a 7-Eleven and saw a self-service smoothie machine for the first time. The thought was instant: “This is genius. Why doesn’t England have this?”
The idea stayed at the front of his mind. Later in the trip, when his parents visited, he took them to try it. It was a light-bulb moment. Sebastian and Riaan looked at each other and knew they had found the idea they had been waiting for.
Back in the UK, Sebastian researched the market and confirmed there was a gap, not just for self-service smoothies, but a chance to connect people back to the source of their nutrition and the process in which its made. Soon after, he travelled to China to meet manufacturers, tested the concept, and began building the business with his dad.
That snowboarding trip in Japan sparked more than just a business idea, it marked the start of a father-and-son journey to bring a new kind of healthy convenience to England.
